Moroccan Figs

The piece depicts juicy luscious figs on a benchtop with blue glazed Moroccan tiles in the background. The figs are local South Australian fare but the setting was inspired by a recent trip to Morrocca where there was an abundance of beautiful hand-made tiles, Unfortunately it was not fig season when I visited so I gorged myself with Moroccan dates instead! Framed by a a 3cm oak floating frame.

My paintings try to capture the the vivid colours in beautiful Australian landscapes that I have visited during my travels. My recent work is inspired by aerial photographs of Australian desert landscapes, the Flinders Ranges and the seascapes of the Fleurieu Peninsular. I find painting inredibly meditative, indeed therapeutic. Everyone should try it!
