Artwork Description

2020 was actually a great year for me in more ways than one. I took a bad situation and turned it into a good one and it paid off for me immensely and still is. This painting is my personal take on that old saying 'when life gives you lemons...'. It also represents my general outlook on life.

It was one of the worst years for most, but in amongst all the tragedy, I saw the good. I saw families spend spend more time together. I saw self employed friends make a killing working on people's houses. I saw people take up hobbies that they've put off for years. I've seen people get into investing and I've seen people finally go out on their own and start their own businesses. This work is represents everyone who is struggling but try's to turn a bad situation into a good one. This one's for the people who make lemonade.

Artist Bio

Born and raised in Coatbridge, a small working-class town on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland, Sully (Martin Sullivan) took to drawing and painting from a very young age. He would then later graduate from the Edinburgh college of art with a Bachelors degree in Visual communication. He now lives in Sydney, Australia.

Sully's describes his work as abstract geometric. Using heavy brush strokes and straight lines he pieces together the subject matter in an original way. He aims to stand out from the crowd with his style and show his versatility through a painting style rather than a specific subject matter. His work is also an insight into him as a person or at least the person he try's his best to be every day. Bright, bold, colourful, energetic and above all, honest.

He believes that art is for everyone and tries to convey that message through his work and his overall brand. His approach to painting and marketing is a combination of what he loves about the art world and what he dislikes about it and the lessons he's learned on his journey. He aims to shake things up in the art world and change the online buying process and the way its perceived.
