Artwork Description

'Don't do it better, do it different.'

A quote that inspired me to think outside the box with my art. A quote that sparked an idea. Why try to be better than other artists when instead, I could be different?

Steve Jobs was a fascinating individual and like all human beings he had his flaws. But one thing we can all agree on is that he changed the course of history with his ideas and his refusal to accept the status quo. A trait that I truly admire and one that I try to apply to my art. This painting is my tribute to the great innovator.

Artist Bio

Born and raised in Coatbridge, a small working-class town on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland, Sully (Martin Sullivan) took to drawing and painting from a very young age. He would then later graduate from the Edinburgh college of art with a Bachelors degree in Visual communication. He now lives in Sydney, Australia.

Sully's describes his work as abstract geometric. Using heavy brush strokes and straight lines he pieces together the subject matter in an original way. He aims to stand out from the crowd with his style and show his versatility through a painting style rather than a specific subject matter. His work is also an insight into him as a person or at least the person he try's his best to be every day. Bright, bold, colourful, energetic and above all, honest.

He believes that art is for everyone and tries to convey that message through his work and his overall brand. His approach to painting and marketing is a combination of what he loves about the art world and what he dislikes about it and the lessons he's learned on his journey. He aims to shake things up in the art world and change the online buying process and the way its perceived.
