Straddling realism and impressionism this painting depicts Whian Whian Falls in the Northern Rivers, NSW. I composed this from a series of photos, removing the many people who were there to cool off on a warm day.

Marty de Weerd is a Nimbin based landscape painter with a deep love for nature.

Marty left his office job in Adelaide at the beginning of 2023 to move to Northern NSW and dedicate himself to his art.

He was the winner of the Margaret McLaren Encouragement Award for emerging artists at the 2023 Nimbin Art Fair.

Marty looks to depict nature in its purest forms, with little human influence.
