Within the Mist

This scene is one of my favourite sections of the Mt Nardi walking trail in Nightcap National Park, Northern NSW. It was a very drizzly day in the rainforest and as I removed leeches from my boots I quickly took the reference photo for this piece.

Marty de Weerd is a Nimbin based landscape painter with a deep love for nature.

Marty left his office job in Adelaide at the beginning of 2023 to move to Northern NSW and dedicate himself to his art.

He was the winner of the Margaret McLaren Encouragement Award for emerging artists at the 2023 Nimbin Art Fair.

Marty looks to depict nature in its purest forms, with little human influence.
