Mary is a self-taught artist who has been quietly honing her skills for most of her life. Mary began painting with water-colour before discovering her passion for pastels. In the mid nineties she married and had two children, and in between being a mum started painting with Acrylics, which she is now painting with full time.
Mary began a commercial venture starting a small business in the mid 2000’s. This involved reproducing prints of Mary’s work onto canvas. Although this venture had good success, it was original work that Mary wanted to excel in.
In 2013 Mary began to emerge from the studio by entering local art competitions. She concentrates mainly on large eerie landscapes, using imagery drawn from personal experience, childhood memories right through to current observations of everyday life.
In 2015 Mary was invited by Gold Coast Gallery Hillier and Skuse to exhibit her works.
