Description

This painting was inspired by several things - a trip through the 'food bowl' area of Queensland and my love of scarecrows. I used to make scarecrows when I was a child to keep the birds away from our vegetable garden. I would use old stockings and stuff them with hay, using clothes to try and make them as real looking as possible. As the vegetables grow, the scarecrows disappear into the greenery, but after the harvest everything is left exposed and you find long lost things like footballs.
