Embrace

Embrace is a reflection on stillness during seasonal transitions. My hope is that this painting captures the in-between moment where the warmth of the sun lingers, but the air cools and the pace of life subtly shifts. It’s an invitation to slow down and rest within that changing season, to notice the beauty of pause and retreat.

I am an artist based in Adelaide, South Australia, working primarily in oils. Drawing and painting have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, they’ve become a way for me to pause, reflect, and notice the quiet beauty in the world around me.

Much of my inspiration comes from time spent in nature: walking, observing, and capturing moments through photos or sketches. My paintings often begin loosely and gradually take shape as I refine them layer by layer.

I’m especially drawn to the way light moves through the landscape. It shifts colours, deepens shadows, and softens the edges of things. These subtle changes are what I try to hold onto when I paint.

I hope my work offers a quiet moment, a chance to pause, reflect, and perhaps see something familiar a little differently.
