An experimentation with various surfaces, textures, patterns and contrasts, complementing a traditional still life of summer flowers in a vase. I was playing with perspective views that are really not perspectives at all, a wallpaper pattern against the rendition of flowers in a lifelike style and flat areas of contrasting patterns in the body of the vase and the cloth on the table. A bouquet for Henri Matisse - the master of clashes that work, despite being quite impossible in observed reality!
