Heavily influenced by the ageing masters, Genevieve is a trial to replicate the feel of renaissance by experimenting with the destruction of the piece once its painted. Oil that survives time cracks and pulls apart - which I believe is counter-intuitive as it only adds to the beauty of that era. To celebrate it, I leaned into the cracks and filled them with gold dust, another element found in the frames of the time.
