Artwork Description

A male Red Deer staring at the curious spectator. The last sight before he slip away into the bush.
This is a small and powerfull painting, where I intend to balanced values and create color harmony. Using the complementarity between reds and greens I tried to subtly guide the eye of the spectator to the focal points of the painting. I used diferent techniques, as layers, to create texture where I considered, to enrich the image.

Artist Bio

Mateo is an argentine artist now living in Australia. He is well known for his oil paintings and drawings, where he captures the nature and essence of things in a realistic way, always emphasizing on the advance quality of his technique. After almost 13 years of painting and drawing without stopping he continues looking for the volume, structure, texture, and form of things in nature, which he embodies it all with a balanced oil painting pallet and some charcoal and graphite.
Graduated as a veterinarian in 2021, he is interested in applying the anatomy knowledge acquired to his animals paintings, specially horses and cattle, which have become one of his most recurring themes. Can be highlighted among those kind of paintings, some as ¨La Cuartertera¨ (painted for number one professional polo player Adolfo Cambiasso) and ¨La Guillermina¨ (now hanging on the walls of professional polo player Nico Pieres´ house).
high quality technique, dedication and the artist authenticity, are for Mateo, three fundamental and very important points to have into account when starting a new piece.
