The Ancient City in a Misty Morning Sunrise.

I wanted to paint an impressionistic piece with an expressionist feel of positivity as the city is revealed as the sun rises and burns away the mist. Perhaps a statement for our times as we look to hope in life.

I love painting in a modernist way using colour and abstract shapes and curves. I like to paint water and other scenes involving effects and water and light and fog and mist etc I love those painters that enjoyed these types of paintings from Turner to later romantic painters and of course the impressionists, post impressionists, fauves and the tonalists.
