ROAD TO RESILIENCE 2022

Each painting is guiding you to dive deep into self enquiry and expressionism. Every piece presents its own unique message that uncovers different elements of humanity and spiritual evolution. Each painting exposing depth, dimension and a piece of intuitive modern contemporary art.

I like to paint on individual pieces of raw or primed canvas using all kinds of mediums including oil, oil sticks, pigment sticks, acrylic, spray paint, charcoal, graphite, coloured pencil, marker, ink, pastel etc, what ever I’m feeling at the time of creation. Signed on the back.

I then let the individual pieces of canvas mature and if at some point through this process I feel the urge to add more, I will. At anyone time I may have more than fifty pieces of canvas spreed out across my studio walls, each piece having its own identity, created through its own emotions and approach.

I then go through a process of gathering certain selected pieces that I'm pulled towards, rearranging them together to eventually form one piece. This final piece has many stories, many emotions and many identities, all connected together to create one.

I’m a self taught artist and as far back as I can remember I’ve always had art in my life. My mother still reminds me that when I was younger I could draw detailed images before I could put a sentence together. I have early memories of watching artist draw on the footpaths in the City of Melbourne and wanting nothing more than to join in. I still remember it very well, as it was the moment I fell deeply in love with the creation of art.

I believe that we're all connected as one and that every piece of art created is a way of deepening that connection. What may just appear as a simple painting hanging on a wall to some, can in fact be much more to others. It’s the way I express the shadows and light in my world. For me, life is art.
