Artwork Description

Linocut Print on paper

Signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity.

This linocut print was inspired by the Banksia, a native Australian plant. Printmaking and linocut printing are two of my favourite artistic mediums to use. Some of my sources of inspiration include working with line, texture, and tone as well as the careful, time-consuming process of hand carving the block before printing.

Some of my primary influences are the 20th-century Sōsaku-hanga woodblock print movement ("creative prints"), the Australian printmakers Margret Preston and Barbara Hanrahan, the Japanese printmaker Un'ichi Hiratsuka, and the Australian printmakers Margret Preston and Barbara Hanrahan. 250-gram cotton rag paper, document Hand carved, these ornaments.
