Artwork Description

This is a lino cut print of a Melbourne W-Class vintage tram.

I really love just working with line, texture and tone. Printmaking is a very methodical way of working, as it takes many hours to design and then hand carve the block prior to printing. The printing of the block is another art in itself, each print is unique and has a certain character.

The prints are all printed by hand.

My main influences include the Australian printmakers: Margret Preston, Barbara Hanrahan and Jan Senbergs.

Paper: Rives BFK 250 gsm rag paper.

These prints are printed by hand so there will be slight variations with each print.

Oils based ink.

Print size approx 30cm x20cm
Paper size approx 60cm x 40 cm

Limited edition of 15 hand signed prints

Artist Bio

Hand-carved & printed, limited editions. Where graphic lines meet classic craft.

I’m a Melbourne-based illustrator and printmaker with 25 years of experience. After years in agencies, I founded my studio in 2009 to bridge technical precision with the grit of the handmade. I think of my practice as an off-site art department where graphic lines meet classic craft.

My heart is in linocut printing—a slow, meditative craft. It requires hours of hand-carving a block before ink ever touches paper. Because of this process, every print is a unique entity with its own character. My style is a conversation between graphic art and relief printing, shaped by the Australian landscape and the legacy of Margaret Preston and the Japanese Sōsaku-hanga movement.

When I’m not at the carving bench, I’m usually recording music or heading out on a road trip. I’m a professional member of Illustrators Australia and always open to new collaborations and commissions.
