Artwork Description

Firth displays my fascination with lines built up in layer upon layer. The paint is quite thick as there are many layers. The lines are predominantly green. As a result, the painting suggests vegetation. The title Firth comes from a naming convention of random geological features.

Artist Bio

I am a visual artist with a hidden disability. I mainly paint in oil on canvas. My works celebrate the process of painting, embracing changes, accidents, and discoveries made along the way. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in lines in artwork. This interest has distilled to a point where I am painting only in lines. Lines come in many forms‚ the brush stoke‚ the mark‚ calligraphy. I love the way the patterns of lines build up‚ they merge from fields into traces of energy. I am interested in the harmonies and the joining of form and the different scales at which the lines form pattern.
