Artwork Description

This painting follows my usual interest in lines. It is from the Companion Paintings series‚ Harry Sullivan being a Doctor Who companion when Tom Baker was the Doctor.

After completing the painting I then was not satisfied with the outcome and divided the plane into the current tension between foreground and background.

Artist Bio

I am a visual artist with a hidden disability. I mainly paint in oil on canvas. My works celebrate the process of painting, embracing changes, accidents, and discoveries made along the way. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in lines in artwork. This interest has distilled to a point where I am painting only in lines. Lines come in many forms‚ the brush stoke‚ the mark‚ calligraphy. I love the way the patterns of lines build up‚ they merge from fields into traces of energy. I am interested in the harmonies and the joining of form and the different scales at which the lines form pattern.
