I live in Maroochydore Queensland Australia.
I have been a part time artist for many years but running a business kept me from it until I retired 3 years ago.
I am passionate about all mediums and use them all at one time or another.
I have done commission work on pastel human portraits, animal portraits, as well as general subjects in alcohol ink, watercolour and oils.
What inspires me to paint is subject matter with dramatic play on light or a person or animal caught in a quirky expression.
My training was primarily done at secondary school, then after a 3 year Tafe course in sculpture and studio ceramics, I found the sculpture gave me a wider depth that I brought to my painting.
I want to achieve art that represents the beauty that I see in nature and everything around me and I use colour to that end.
Therefore my subject matter is very varied, as is the art materials I use.
My inspiration can come from a photograph, a drive in the country, a certain expression on a model or animal and even whilst watching a documentary on television.
I learn every day something new for my art so I am open to all new ideas and materials.
