Artwork Description

Mixed media on paper 42x58 cms framed and varnished, ready to hang.
In this painting of deep blue and black colours, I want to convey a sense of how deep and mysterious the ocean can be for us. The ocean bed is teeming with life. Gradually with more explorations its secrets will emerge and will be made know n to us. There are many creatures living on the floor of the ocean that have never seen the light of day and we wonder if these creatures will look upon us in our vessels as aliens from another world! . Hope you enjoy this work of art which reflects what a fascinating world we live in.

Artist Bio

Hello there art lovers.

Just a few lines about myself, I am a self taught painter. I was born in India and now live in Australia. Always had an interest in drawing and painting from a very young age and had an interest in real life painting. As the years went by I gradually turned to surrealism as I wanted to explore another way to express myself.

My main medium was oils , and I found it easy to blend colors. During this period I began to dabble in abstracts and mixing the two together. I called it "SURABS". Now I am very much into abstract painting and I find you need to use your imagination. Now I paint with oils and acrylics. I paint using a layering technique, besides using brushes I also use a pallet knife, scrapers and rags. Just one characteristic you may notice in my paintings is the cluster of dots. This represents nature, where you find clusters of the same objects grouped together.Just like businesses, jewelry shops , real estate, galleries, chemists, eating housed, even the cluster of stars. they tend to group together.People tend to do that also and that's how we now have mega cities.

I hope you enjoy these paintings and thank you for visiting my site and Blue Thumb.
