Artwork Description

This artwork was influenced by the early settlers in Australia. When gold and precious stones was found in the interior of the country it began to get the attention of many prospectors and people wanting to get wealthy flocked to the area.. Because of this gold rush there grew small townships which led to other jobs being created.
The ocher, yellow, red and blue colors are the colors of stones found in the landscape. This is a square painting 90x90 cms. oil on canvas and has been varnished and framed by the artist.

Artist Bio

Hello there art lovers.

Just a few lines about myself, I am a self taught painter. I was born in India and now live in Australia. Always had an interest in drawing and painting from a very young age and had an interest in real life painting. As the years went by I gradually turned to surrealism as I wanted to explore another way to express myself.

My main medium was oils , and I found it easy to blend colors. During this period I began to dabble in abstracts and mixing the two together. I called it "SURABS". Now I am very much into abstract painting and I find you need to use your imagination. Now I paint with oils and acrylics. I paint using a layering technique, besides using brushes I also use a pallet knife, scrapers and rags. Just one characteristic you may notice in my paintings is the cluster of dots. This represents nature, where you find clusters of the same objects grouped together.Just like businesses, jewelry shops , real estate, galleries, chemists, eating housed, even the cluster of stars. they tend to group together.People tend to do that also and that's how we now have mega cities.

I hope you enjoy these paintings and thank you for visiting my site and Blue Thumb.
