"My Country #424"

Painted from the caravan park where I stayed in Broken Hill, in outback Australia. It shows the typical outback scenery with sand hills and saltbush, with the late afternoon sun throwing a brilliant light.

For seven years, I travelled Australia in my van Morrison taking hundreds of photos of the countryside. I now turn these into oil paintings, call them all "My Country" and number them in order of execution. They include paintings of the outback, the desert, northern canefields, Tasmanian lavender fields, mountains and beaches of Australia. I have sold over 500 paintings, many to tourists who take them home as a memory of their holiday. Hopefully they will provide happy memories of places you have been to in my country.
