Artwork Description

This is a beautiful oil painting study of a lady in a side profile inspired by old masters such as Michelangelo, Rembrandt and Sargent. This was painted using an Alla Prima technique, invloving wet-on-wet approach of a life study. the blocky, visible brushstrokes show the confident focus on form and mass, capturing the likeness and emotion of the subject. The face is structed using a range if warm flesh tones, with a prominent light source illuminating the face. cooler, greenish tones are skillfully used underneath the establish shadow and depth.

Artist Bio

Born and raised in Canberra, I am a 16-year-old artist who brings a fresh perspective shaped by curiosity, creativity, and a strong connection to my local community. Working across a range of mediums, my practice explores identity, personal experiences, and the world around me. My work combines technical skill with an experimental approach, resulting in pieces that are both thoughtful and engaging. Inspired by contemporary culture, everyday observations, and emerging artistic movements. I continue to develop my unique visual language. As an emerging artist at the beginning of mu career, I am committed to growth, innovation, and meaningful creative expression.
