Maxx was born in Dubbo NSW in 1949 was adopted by an Australian couple, at birth. He developed a talent for art and creativeness at an early age. He loved to paint, write and draw, started painting seriously at the Gold Coast in 2022.
Although Kodak Industry was a big part of his career and indeed. Branching out on his own he owned and operated Photo Whiz then Balmain Art Gallery, thus bringing him full circle back into the world of art.
He developed a strong rapport with his photography and adapted dedicated use of digital art with colour and contrast, creating his desired textures.
Most images start with floral photography, enhanced digitally, then painted using acrylics, on canvas.
Maxx studied drawing classes 2018 at North Shore School of Art Mosman, Sydney. Studied painting classes 2019 at FFocus Arts School. He has exhibited and sold at the BentArt Gallery, Blue Mountains and the Gold Coast Qld.
Also exhibited at the Gold Coast Gallery and the D’arcy Doyle Competition chosen from 800 entries, advancing to one of the finalists.
He was sourced for consignment after taking out second prize in the RQAS Abstract Division.
He resided in Sydney for 57 years, moved north to Queensland in 2020. These days he lives at Burleigh Heads, where he creates his artworks from home.
Maxx is a member of Brisbane’s Royal Queensland Art Society at Gold Coast’s Broadbeach.
These developments have unexpected grown from his move to Qld., thus providing direction for him in his later years after retiring in 2016.
