Artwork Description

This piece was inspired by the quiet beauty of everyday moments—the kind we often overlook. I painted this fruit bowl in acrylic as a celebration of the ordinary: ripe pears, soft bananas, and bursts of citrus arranged in natural light on a kitchen table. There’s something grounding and comforting about the simplicity of fresh fruit, and I wanted to capture that feeling with bold brushstrokes and a warm, inviting palette.
While still and familiar, the composition carries a subtle energy—a balance between calm and vibrancy. I used acrylic for its quick-drying quality, which allowed me to work intuitively and layer colours freely, bringing the scene to life with texture and depth.
This piece brings a sense of warmth and homeliness to any room. Whether hung in a kitchen, dining area, or living space, it acts as a gentle reminder to find beauty in the small, everyday rituals of life.

Artist Bio

I'm a Melbourne-based artist working primarily with watercolour, oil, and acrylic. My creative practice is driven by a deep interest in the emotional resonance of colour, texture, and form. I explore themes of memory, nature, and inner landscapes—often blurring the line between abstraction and reality.
Art has always been a way for me to process the world around me. Whether it’s the soft fluidity of watercolour, the bold presence of oil, or the versatility of acrylic, each medium allows me to express something unique and personal. I’m especially inspired by the shifting moods of the natural world and how those moods mirror our internal states.
My work is intuitive and layered, inviting viewers to pause and find their own meaning in each piece. Over the years, I’ve exhibited in group shows around Victoria, and my artworks are now held in private collections across Australia.
Through Bluethumb, I’m excited to share my evolving body of work and connect with people who feel something in the marks, colours, and moments I capture on canvas and paper.
