Artwork Description

“Freedom Birds” is a contemporary nature-inspired artwork blending stylised wildlife with a warm abstract expressionist background. Three vibrant orange-and-black birds rest along blossoming branches, symbolising connection, resilience, and the quiet beauty in everyday moments.

The textured grey–ochre background adds depth and atmosphere, allowing the birds to stand out with striking contrast. Layered brushstrokes create an earthy, modern feel that suits minimalist spaces, nature-themed interiors, and warm contemporary decor. Each bird is painted with expressive detail, giving the piece a sense of gentle movement and emotional calm.

Perfect for collectors who appreciate modern wildlife art, nature symbolism, and serene abstract textures, this artwork brings harmony, warmth, and a storytelling presence to any room.

Artist Bio

I'm a Melbourne-based artist working primarily with watercolour, oil, and acrylic. My creative practice is driven by a deep interest in the emotional resonance of colour, texture, and form. I explore themes of memory, nature, and inner landscapes—often blurring the line between abstraction and reality.
Art has always been a way for me to process the world around me. Whether it’s the soft fluidity of watercolour, the bold presence of oil, or the versatility of acrylic, each medium allows me to express something unique and personal. I’m especially inspired by the shifting moods of the natural world and how those moods mirror our internal states.
My work is intuitive and layered, inviting viewers to pause and find their own meaning in each piece. Over the years, I’ve exhibited in group shows around Victoria, and my artworks are now held in private collections across Australia.
Through Bluethumb, I’m excited to share my evolving body of work and connect with people who feel something in the marks, colours, and moments I capture on canvas and paper.
