The vintage postcards that I base my paintings on present the viewer with all the staples of an old-fashioned summer holiday at the beach - sunshine, Big Things, marine parks, saturated colour and Meter Maids in gold lamé bikinis. These postcards project a very particular view of Australianness - fun in the sun, right before the sunburn kicks in.
