Nastaran Mazloumi has studied marine biology and graduated with a PhD in 2016 in Australia. She has born in Iran and migrated to Australia in 2012 to continue her postgraduate studies. She always had a burning desire to become an artist. So, she started to continue her passion in art by experimenting painting and drawing as well as studying art academically. She has graduated with a Diploma in Visual Art in Australia and a Diploma of illustration from the illustration society in Iran . And, currently she is an illustrator located in Eastern Australia.
Her work is vibrant and fantasy. Her main inspiration is Persian architectural monuments and her femininity. She mainly use mixed media (e.g. watercolour, markers and gauche) on paper. She focuses on mood and emotion when working, and loves to share her personal feelings about migration in her illustrations. She also works with issues like gender equity, racial diversity, and self esteem in her stories.
When not working on major projects, her favourite subjects are collecting handmade jewellery and writing novels. She has a strong passion about mystical knowledge. She has studied and practiced cosmic mysticism over the last ten years. She also loves philosophy and her favourite writers are, Herman Hesse, Alain de Botton and Heinrich Boll.
