Artwork Description

Collage combined with acrylic painting techniques produce the yummiest texture and depth in this piece.
My aim is to create a level of curiosity from afar so that you want to investigate further close up. To find the words hidden amongst the layers, to find the clues of my process.
My wish is that it conveys my love for this beach and the feeling it evokes for me every time visit it.

Maria is an Australian artist based in Tasmania, who has been painting, drawing and creating from a young age.
Choosing mostly to work in Acrylics and watercolour.
Maria draws on her love of her Island home, it's unique flora and fauna and her lived experiences for inspiration.
Capturing the sun peaking over the horizon, the froth from turbulence in the water or the crisp feeling of the winter season is her aim.
