I was inspired to paint Sun setting over the Ashes after the Ashes cricket was played at Blundstone Arena. I live nearby and enjoyed the vibe of the extra people buzzing around the area.
Maria is an Australian artist based in Tasmania, who has been painting, drawing and creating from a young age. Choosing mostly to work in Acrylics and watercolour. Maria draws on her love of her Island home, it's unique flora and fauna and her lived experiences for inspiration. Capturing the sun peaking over the horizon, the froth from turbulence in the water or the crisp feeling of the winter season is her aim.
