I am an emerging artist living in Melbourne. Art has always been a deeply essential part of my being- with the love and passion to be a working artist reignited a few years ago with my inclusion into group and solo shows at the George Paton Gallery. I adore losing myself in the process of creating largescale, intricately detailed paintings. The common motif woven throughout my art is that of flora and fauna. Almost always thriving, abundant, cascading- sometimes in direct contrast to imagery of decay. I seek to explore the relationship between the human condition and the ever-renewing cycle of life, regrowth and regeneration. Whichever medium I decide to work in, my process is generally an organic one. Beginning with a strong emotion or fragments of a dream leads to an underlying sketch. I then build up layer upon layer of colour with acrylics or find fine detail with ink or watercolour. In almost every case I choose to contrast slightly darker themes with vibrant colour combinations. I hope you feel a sense of wonder or fascination and lose yourself in the intricacies of my work- finding something new and thought provoking every time you study it. Thank you for taking a look at the art that means so much to me!
