Ghost gum and blue skies

This 35 metre tall gum grows on my rural property and I’ve always wanted to paint it. I love the way the bark reveals itself, colours you don’t expect.
Such a magnificent tree the ghost gum….

Through my work I confront the societal tendency to celebrate youth and beauty while allowing women to feel overlooked as they age.
My portraits challenge the viewer to reconsider the traditional standards of visibility and worth.
By capturing the raw essence of my subjects my art emphasises the power and depth that comes with experience and age, providing space for women to reclaim their narrative.
