A keen photographer for most of my life, I have been painting for about five years now. Having played about with pastels and given watercolors a go, I've settled on acrylics as my medium of choice due to their vibrancy and adaptability. After nearly four decades at the chalk face as a classroom teacher, teacher educator and school principal, I have retired to the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland town of Maleny. I learnt my art basics by teaching them to primary school students and now enjoy weekly painting lessons.
Surrounded by rolling green hills dotted with dairy cows which provide many vantage points to the magnificent Glasshouse Mountains, Maleny offers endless inspiration for my art. My prolific garden and the lush rural landscapes right outside my door feature heavily in my work and I create in an impressionistic style using my own photographs as sources.
