Artwork Description

Opera on the Rocks
This piece was created with an Australian theme in mind. Appreciating the beautiful architecture of The Opera House including the beach, sand and surf. You couldn’t get more Australian than that. The beautiful blend of the sky and sea brings a cool feel to the piece. Surf safety also included with the small detail of the flag. A feature detail in the rocks is the extension of the arch on the right of the white sails. I wanted to continue the flow of the shape to a natural rock structure to complement the sail shape.
Ready to hang. Enjoy!

Artist Bio

Meg has always loved creating art. Her romance with art started at a young age when doing calligraphy classes and art at school. With her passion ignited, she explored many avenues of art, leading her to become a qualified sign writer which took her interest to a new technical level. Meg became a queen of letter structure, detailed logo and mural creations.

After a career break in signwriting, she pursued a career in Emergency Services and served the community for well over a decade. Always dreaming of becoming an artist, she refreshed her passion and has taken up the brushes again. Her love of art has never left and she feels rejuvenated and enthusiastic in her creativity, painting on stretched canvas in her preferred medium of acrylic. Meg loves all aspects of painting even down to preparing the canvas. Although her collection of artist paintbrushes is excessive, she loves having them in her space along with all the colours of the acrylic rainbow to complete her happy place. Meg also has a passion for drawing with coloured pencils.

Utilising a fine eye and a unique approach to blending, Meg combines colours and ideas to create beautiful art with a touch of abstract, modern/realism in some pieces with a touch of quirkiness. She has a love for detail and colour which shows in her unique style. She would love for you to enjoy her art as much as she does creating it.

Meg lives in the south of Sydney and finds inspiration from time spent outdoors, finding nature an endless reference for ideas, colours and art creations.
