This artwork is based on a photograph by notable surf photographer LeRoy Grannis- Dewey Weber Surfboards on Lincoln Blvd in Venice, circa 1960. I found a photo of this retro pink brick building and just loved the vibe.

Artist Bio

Welcome to my bio! My name is Megan and I am a professional graphic artist/textile designer breaking bad and delving into fine art.

Having lived for protracted periods in Ballarat, Torquay and Melbourne in Victoria, my environmental inspiration has been equal parts bush, coastal and urban. I primarily work in oil pastels- a medium that is halfway between drawing and painting which I have coined “drainting”.

Currently working for irreverent clothing brand Mambo, I have developed a bold, bright and graphic style in which the subject matter varies from work to work but is always meticulously designed.

I am sweeping off the dust from nearly 15 years of being time poor and getting back into art for art’s sake, hopefully this is a venture that proves beneficial not only to myself, but to the community at large. Hope you like my stuff!
