Artwork Description

During the Jacaranda bloom months, the University of Queensland comes alive with a purple carpet of flowers. This scene was captured while visiting the University and I have never seen such a beautiful sea of purple against the trees and pond. This will definitely add a pop of colour to brighten your walls.

Artist Bio

Megan Stanley is an Australian artist. She lives in Brisbane, Queensland, where she paints various landscapes and natural scenes with impressionistic techniques. She uses colour, light, shade, and movement to create vivid and bold artworks that convey a visual experience matched with an iconic location. Looking beyond the brushstroke a place in time comes to life through colour and paint.

Having grown up across various regions along Australia's east coast—from the snow-capped peaks of the Snowy Mountains to the golden beaches of the Mid North Coast—I developed a deep appreciation for the rich colours and beauty found in natural landscapes. Inspired by the works of the Impressionists, especially Monet, I strive to capture the essence of these scenes through bold, expressive brushstrokes—each painting a vibrant impression of the world around me
