Artwork Description

A study in restraint and atmosphere, In the Afterglow captures the suspended breath between sunset and night. Veils of lavender and smoked plum dissolve into deep shadow, while subtle passages of light hover across the surface like a final, reluctant farewell from the day.

Built through layered texture and tonal depth, the work invites slow looking. From afar, it evokes a horizon fading into dusk; up close, the materiality reveals a terrain of movement, memory, and quiet drama.

Both meditative and commanding, this piece anchors a space with understated luxury — offering collectors a moment of stillness, sophistication, and enduring intrigue.

Artist Bio

Megha Pabathi is a Melbourne-based contemporary artist whose work explores themes of identity, belonging, resilience, and hope through textured abstract forms.

Originally from India and now calling Australia home, Megha's artistic practice is deeply influenced by her experience navigating life between cultures. Through layers of texture, movement, and metallic accents, she creates works that reflect both the challenges and beauty of building a life far from one's roots while holding onto the parts of oneself that remain unchanged.

Working primarily with acrylics, textured mediums, sand, and metallic elements, her paintings are inspired by natural landscapes, shifting light, and the emotional journeys that connect us all. Her neutral palettes and organic forms invite viewers to pause, reflect, and find moments of calm amidst an increasingly complex world.

Alongside her studio practice, Megha is the founder of Bohomonkey Studio, where she shares her love of creativity through textured art workshops designed to make art accessible, enjoyable, and deeply personal.
