Artwork Description

Based on a photo I took in antelope canyon. A narrow beam of sunlight slices through the heart of a weathered canyon, revealing the rich texture and ancient layers of sculpted stone. Inspired by the American Southwest’s slot canyons, this vertical oil painting invites the viewer into a place both sacred and surreal. The interplay of shadow and warmth, curve and edge, captures the slow erosion of time and the sudden beauty of light. It’s a portrait of nature’s patience and precision.

Artist Bio

Meghan Sullivan is a visual artist based on the Gold Coast, originally from the United States. After years of painting casually, she made the bold decision to begin again—leaving behind her earlier works and embracing a fresh creative chapter in a new country. Her journey is one of intentional reinvention, shaped by the freedom of a blank canvas and the question of what kind of artist she wants to become.

Meghan’s work draws inspiration from memory, nature, and the quiet beauty of everyday moments. Whether capturing vibrant coastlines, tranquil forests, or golden-hour reflections, her paintings evoke a sense of stillness and story. With each piece, she invites the viewer into a space that feels both personal and universal.

A full-time mess maker powered by coffee and cute dogs, Meghan approaches her practice with curiosity, honesty, and a willingness to figure it out as she goes.
