Artwork Description

The Concept:

The power of this work lies in what the artist chose to leave out. The composition intentionally crops the subject, leaving 30% of the lantern to the imagination.

This missing piece is a deliberate invitation to the viewer. It serves as a visual metaphor for the way we carry history: we rarely remember every detail of a moment, but we never forget how its light made us feel. It suggests that while time may wear away the physical - the metal, the glass, the wood - the essence of the "light" remains untouchable.

Visual Profile:

Atmosphere: A masterful use of deep browns, toasted oak, and shadowed ambers creates a sophisticated, moody backdrop that adapts to the lighting of the room it inhabits.

Scale: Its 60-inch height is designed to command a gallery wall, Office, grand dining space, or a primary living suite.

Detail: The lantern is rendered with a focus on its aged textures, offering a tactile contrast to the smooth, blended gradients of the background.

Medium: Professional grade pigments on good quality canvas.

Finish: Sealed with a Professional quality gloss varnish to protect the depth of the dark tones from UV light and dust.

Provenance: Includes a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.

Investment Details:

Finish: Sealed with Professional UV Conservation Varnish (gloss finish) to protect against fading and provide a subtle, good quality glow.

Display: Designed for grand foyers, high ceilinged living spaces, or as a focal point in a master suite.

Provenance: Includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Bio

"Art doesn't just run in my family; it defines me."

My journey as an artist began long before I picked up a brush. It began with my grandfather, Hassan Nawab Rizvi. He was a visionary – a man of immense talent who created in the quiet shadows of a time without social media or global stages. His art was his soul, shared only with those closest to him.

As a qualified Interior Designer, I understand the technicalities of space and light, but as an artist, I rely entirely on the hereditary gift passed down through my lineage. We are “natural artists” – we create because we must, guided by an ancestral rhythm rather than formal instruction.

I am honored to be the first in my family to bring this hidden heritage to the world. My mission is twofold: to finally give my grandfather’s legacy the audience it deserves, and to pave the way for my child to carry this flame into the next generation.

Every canvas I finish is a bridge between our history and your home.
