Watercolour on paper
Signed on the back.
This artwork was created on cotton rag paper and painted from life during a six-hour sitting. Painting from life is a significant source of inspiration in my art practice.
For this specific artwork on paper, I utilised a palette consisting of soft browns, reds, blue washes, and touches of grey. I employed watercolour glazing techniques and a combination of brushwork and loose gestural strokes with different hues and tints. While painting from life within a limited time frame, I produced a spontaneous wash background.
Life drawing is the foundation of my art practice. It challenges my observation skills and develops my unique style. I am passionate about working with watercolours, which constantly surprise me with their exquisite beauty.
I painted this work entirely over one sitting. (6hours)
