Artwork Description

Another artwork in the backyard/neighbour series.
They say "Good Fences make Good Neighbours" and this painting backs that saying up. It's vibrant and colourful with all the summer essentials to make the neighbours jealous.
This artwork would add a pop of colour and fun to any home, workplace or holiday home.

Artist Bio

My name is Melbee and I am the artist behind Streets of Your Town Art. I love, love, love colour (I don't do beige) and I have, to put it mildly a full blown obsession with houses, buildings, caravans, suburbia and all things associated. The original plan was to be an architect - but upon realising how much maths was involved, that plan was immediately scrapped and I decided to paint the architecture instead!!!
I have lived all over Australia and overseas, and I quite often call on these memories for architectural inspiration, but for the past 15 years I have called tropical far north Queensland home. As well as being surrounded by stunning tropical scenery, the tropics contain some unique and diverse architecture - everything from art deco to beach shacks, Queenslander homes and the influences of the different migrant populations that have lived in the region for many decades. It's a true melting pot of deliciousness in architecture! Colourful, vibrant, fun and rich in colour - I aim to bring out the personality of the home/building/caravan and it's occupants.
Commissions of people's homes, holiday homes, workplaces and caravans are a specialty of mine and I absolutely love doing these commissions!
I primarily work in acrylic, but sometimes use gouache. All paintings are sealed with clear gloss protective varnish.
I hope my works put a smile on people's faces and invoke a sense of fun, happiness and nostalgia.
