Mel is a Toowoomba‑based artist who swears she’s settled down… even though her colour palette still carries the humidity, drama, and tropical mischief of Far North Queensland, where she spent most of her life. She’s been painting for five years, starting with watercolour before realising she preferred a medium that didn’t run away from her. Acrylics have behaved slightly better, and mixed media gets invited in when she’s feeling adventurous.
