Artwork Description

MY FATHERS WINDOW

Faded blue fills the room
As twilight reaches through
In reach of his favorite chair
Vision is perplexed by its given view
By the window he adores to sit, smoke, and chew
A soul misunderstood by many
He sealed his truth and kept it quiet
For the waves would crash within his manic furnace
A troubled spirit
He led the flock blind
With a bowed head
And a sunken heart filled with longing
I stand and stare by his armchair
As memory comes through
I am too left with a heavy heart
For forgiveness is only granted upon a redeeming heart
As neither more needs to be said
The birds adorn the fading violet sky
To be left still
And to be granted no invitation
To a world he only knew

Artist Bio

I am an Australian born artist who has been developing a style that is vital to my aim of expressing the Human condition. My art is derived from ‘my story’, I draw my inspiration from real experiences. I believe all artistic vision is inherently from a source that can only be considered as divine. I draw from my own personal experiences, all that I witness within the boundaries of my life, from all that I have felt internally.

“I understood more, when I felt more”

I approach my work with a conceived idea or an elusive image. At first a set style or attitude is taken on as an expressive outlet, and then eventually I become stimulated before the work takes a life of its own through an emotional outlet during the creation of the work. I become captivated by the works progressive development, encouraging what works to hold or to expose a subconscious truth and beauty, creating a life of its own.

"There is no single truth in Art, everyone holds their own truth which they have reaped through the life they have endured".
