Welcome! I am an acrylic artist living in Western Australia. With my recent love of the freedom of acrylics and my current beach series, I found myself wanting to capture the emotion of walking down the hot track or path in anticipation of a wonderful day at the beach. In 2018 I took the plunge and held a solo exhibition 'Sea Spell' at the Zig Zag gallery in Kalamunda. I was so blessed to find that it was very well received and a near sell out, which has resulted in painting becoming a centre piece in my life again. I can not look out a window or walk down a street without imaging how what I see around me would present itself as a work of art.
I work on small and large scale canvas, I adore working texture into my pieces with mixed media. Sometimes sand taken from site, impasto gel, the use of a palette knife, crushed shells, flowers , leaves and tissue paper, I love to work with layers and hidden splashes of colour to create vibrancy and movement. The reflection of light off the different textures gives an element of surprise. My heart and soul is in every piece. Appreciation of a piece of art is such a personal journey.
