Sound absorbing fibre - industrial grade, sound reduction material designed to reduce sound bounce and calm noise in 'echoey' spaces. Used in open plan homes, cafes and restaurants to allow audible comfort. The surface is a bit like felt or fine carpet.

This piece was inspired by a morning walk on the break-wall at Nobbies beach in Newcastle, NSW Australia. I really liked the shape and composition the rocks created. I love to describe distance and depth and I also found it intriguing that the sky and sea did not have a horizon line. This was due to the reflective light and fog obscuring the far distance.
