I have a collection of old keys and was loving their shapes, colour and patina. Mostly though, I was curious as to what their use was, what they opened. Are they keys to a cupboard, a desk drawer, a box of treasure - a mystery!! This painting, “The key to....” actually represents an opportunity to take a risk in life. These mysterious keys could lead to something unknown and exciting, a new idea. For me it is a metaphor for my new path with painting. Having found Bluethumb art I now have an opportunity to open the door to a future with my art and hopefully find success. I’m hoping this little painting may represent something like this for the viewer or collector.
