Northern Rivers Double Rainbow

This painting attempts to capture one of those rare occurances in nature , a double rainbow. This type of bright light against dark skies really gets me. Shards of golden light illuminate the paddocks, at the rivers edge where the deer sometimes graze. I have spent many hours gazing at this view but this fleeting phenomena was one of the more poetic moments, full of hope.

My studio is in the middle of my home, We live by the forest, The forest is full of creatures and birds. The house is full of things, dust, art and sometimes creatures as well. My paintings evolve over many hours, sometimes months, building layer upon layer. For me this is the thing that is so wonderful about painting, it's slowness.
