Artwork Description

The intricate lattice of branches in these fallen pines reveals my central focus on the uneasy relationship between the natural world and ourselves. Through this, I highlight how our actions are woven into the inseparable nature of matter and meaning, which guides my drawing practice.
By using water-soluble graphite on synthetic polypropylene paper, I examine the tension between natural and human-made materials. My work aims to reveal how carbon, water, and microplastics connect ecological and human systems.

Artist Bio

I am a Naarm/Melbourne-based artist whose work dwells in the entanglement of ecology and human intervention. Drawing from the aesthetics of beauty and the sublime in romantic landscape traditions, I explore how a human-centred gaze alters and unsettles the natural world.
