While travelling in the South Island New Zealand, by a lake I was drawn to come up close to a large pine tree. What was pulling me in, was the extraordinary tracks around pine back shapes exposing some of the depth and layers of bark. An invitation to come closer, spend time with this magnificent pine. The tracks created by the bark formation resinated with my own track through life, inviting me to ponder my own depth of life.
As a feature in a room, this artwork sits in silence, yet draws you in to ponder life journey, just as the pine sits in silence by the lake, yet has an energy to draw you in closer.
