Wherever I Am, I See the World Through My Own Eyes
This painting reflects the way I experience the world as an Uzbek woman living far from my homeland. No matter where I am, every landscape, every place, and every moment is viewed through the lens of my own cultural memory and identity.
The open window symbolizes perspective โ a frame through which I observe the world. The mountain landscape beyond the window represents the beauty of the places I encounter, while the pomegranates decorating the window frame are a symbol deeply rooted in Uzbek culture, representing abundance, heritage, and connection to home.
For me, this work is about carrying my homeland within me. Even when surrounded by unfamiliar places, I continue to see the world through the colors, symbols, and stories that shaped me. The painting explores the relationship between place, memory, and identity, showing how our cultural roots remain present wherever life takes us.
