Artwork Description

In Lost Codes, Mia Pandey Gordon dissects the architecture of meaning in a world saturated with digital symbols and emotional fragmentation. At first glance, the fractured QR code suggests a technological relic—an interface designed for clarity, now rendered unreadable. But beneath its geometric scaffolding lies a painterly field of vibrant hues and scattered letters, each one a residue of language, memory, or identity.
This work interrogates the tension between encoded systems and emotional nuance. The QR motif, typically a conduit for instant access, becomes a metaphor for disconnection: a lost emotional syntax, a cultural script that no longer decodes. The floating alphabet—disjointed, colorful, and untethered—evokes the remnants of personal or collective narratives that resist simplification.

Pandey Gordon’s hybrid technique merges digital motifs with expressionist color and surrealist disruption, inviting viewers to confront ambiguity rather than resolution. Lost Codes is not a puzzle to be solved, but a landscape of emotional residue—where meaning flickers, fragments, and reforms in the viewer’s gaze

Artist Bio

My art is a quiet resistance against the noise of the world and an invitation into moments of vulnerability, reflection, and memory. Through a gentle layering of hues, motifs, and figures, I seek to uncover the emotional landscapes that often go unspoken.

Each brushstroke is an act of translation: thoughts into colour, feelings into form. Through my compositions I try to capture the rhythm of the world around us and its silence appearing as soft strength, introspection, and balance.

I paint to capture tenderness and to offer sanctuary to those who think and feel deeply.

My process is intuitive, yet iterative and deliberate. I begin with mood, often drawn from fleeting sensations: sunlight against a wall, the hush of early morning, or the gravity of longing. From there, I paint spaces where viewers can rest, feel, sense, and reflect.

Art, to me, is both mirror and shelter. I hope my paintings become places people return to for visual enjoyment and to feel uplifted.
